The Visa Electron was a debit card product that used the Visa payment system. The difference between Visa Electron and the similar product, Visa Debit, is that payments with a Visa Electron card always require online electronic authorization, and typically the full amount must be available at the time of the payment. In contrast, most Visa Debit cards can be processed offline without online authorization, and may allow transactions exceeding the available balance up to certain limits. The issuance of Visa Electron cards decreased in the 2010s, with many banks replacing them with Visa Debit cards. In 2024, Visa discontinued the product worldwide.
A Visa Electron kártyák kibocsátása 2024-ben megszűnt, nem igényelhetők, helyette a Visa Debit használható.
