Rewin card

The Rewin card is a Hungarian corporate benefit, cafeteria, and employee incentive payment card. It operates as a prepaid digital or plastic card (alongside physical paper vouchers) designed for specific spending categories—such as groceries, apparel, or consumer electronics—within a designated network of merchant partners.

Rewin is a leading player in Hungary’s non-SZÉP-card corporate benefit and incentive market. The company was established in late 2023 following the management buyout of Edenred Hungary by domestic investors. It maintains a nationwide merchant network of nearly 14,000 acceptance points, covering major retail chains (e.g., SPAR, ALDI, Tesco, Auchan, Penny) and specialty shops.

As a purely domestic entity, Rewin does not operate cross-border branch networks within the EU. However, its technology and financial framework strictly comply with European Union regulations, such as PSD2 payment standards and GDPR data protection rules.

Rewin has no direct global market presence, functioning strictly as a localized benefit issuer tailored to Hungary's tax and regulatory framework. Its global connection is historical, as it was formed from the domestic operations of the French-based Edenred Group, one of the world's largest prepaid corporate service providers.
