Edenred has withdrawn from the Hungarian market and its activities have been taken over by Rewin Hungary Kft.

In Hungary, Edenred's name was synonymous with paper-based cafeteria vouchers (e.g. Ticket Restaurant, Top Premium) for decades after it entered the domestic market in 1993. However, due to the domestic regulatory environment and the transformation of the cafeteria system (e.g. the dominance of the domestic SZÉP Card), the company's profile has changed significantly:
- Transfer of traditional vouchers: At the end of 2023, Edenred's Hungarian voucher business was taken over by Rewin Magyarország Kft., so the classic paper-based vouchers will continue to operate under this name.
- Digital benefit cards: The company continues to be present on the Hungarian market with modern, targeted digital solutions (such as the Ticket Restaurant SZÉP Card, Comfort Card, Family and Benefit Cards), which are accepted by a wide range of domestic POS terminals and webshops.
- Mobility and fleet (UTA Edenred): In Hungary, it currently has the greatest direct weight in the logistics and transportation sector. Through Edenred, UTA provides international fuel cards, European toll payment tools and tax refund services to domestic carriers and fleet managers.
Europe is Edenred’s home country (a French-based company) and the group’s main source of revenue (more than 60% of its revenue comes from here):
- Market leadership: In almost all major European countries (e.g. France, Italy, Germany), Edenred is the absolute king of HR benefits. The famous Ticket Restaurant brand has fundamentally transformed the European workplace dining culture.
- Driver of sustainable transition: In Europe, Edenred is at the forefront of supporting micromobility and environmental awareness. They provide digital vouchers and cards that employees can use for public transport, bike rental or even to buy healthy/organic food, helping companies achieve their ESG (environmental and social) goals.
Significance outside the EU (Global level)
Although it has European roots, Edenred also has a huge global footprint outside the EU, especially in the Americas and Asia.
- Latin America (The main growth engine): Brazil and Mexico are among Edenred's most important markets. In Latin America, the company is not only strong in employee benefits, but also has a gigantic market share in corporate mobility (fleet management, fuel control).
- North America: In the United States, they focus on the automation of corporate payments, the management of travel and entertainment expenses (Corporate Payments) and flexible commuting benefit programs.
- Asia-Pacific: They are present in key markets such as India, Japan or Taiwan, where they support companies' engagement and loyalty programs (incentives & rewards) through digitalization with their advanced technology platforms.
