Visa

Visa Incorporated is an American multinational financial services company and a leading card network provider. Visa facilitates the back-office operations, including the clearing and settlement of transactions such as purchases and cash withdrawals. These services connect banks, including those operating POS terminals, ATMs, and card issuance, within the Visa network.
In Hungary, Visa holds the second-largest market share in card issuance, following Mastercard, with approximately 40% of issued cards. Most banks in the country offer Visa cards, and they are accepted at all card acceptance points, making Visa a significant player in the Hungarian financial services market.
Visa is the largest card company in Europe, with Visa cards accepted everywhere in the European Union. This extensive acceptance highlights Visa's leading role in the European financial services market.
Visa is the second-largest card payment organization globally, encompassing both debit and credit card transactions. In 2015, it was surpassed by China UnionPay in terms of the annual value of card payments and the number of cards issued. However, UnionPay's dominance is primarily driven by the size of its domestic market in China. Outside of China, Visa remains the leading card issuer, commanding a 50% market share of all card payments globally.
