iDEAL is the Dutch online payment system that enables direct online bank transfers. Today, around 70% of online purchases in the Netherlands are made using iDEAL.

Most Hungarian webshops do not offer iDEAL as a payment option, as it is mainly used by Dutch customers.

Exception: if an international merchant or marketplace operates in Hungary and also targets Dutch customers, it may appear there.

It is widespread in webshops targeting Dutch customers.

For example, it can be found in German, Belgian, Luxembourgish, French webshops if they expect Dutch customers.

But: it is not an EU-wide universal payment solution, it remains country-specific.

Several EU PSPs (Payment Service Providers) offer it as an integration.

Rare, only if the services or products are specifically aimed at Dutch customers.

For example, large international online stores (Amazon, AliExpress) may have an option for iDEAL payment, but it only appears if you have a Dutch IP and a Dutch account.
