Diners Club

Diners Club is one of the oldest payment card brands, having started as the world's first general purpose credit card. Since then, it has held a premium position in the card market, specializing in business and travel payments. Diners Club cards are accepted globally, especially where Discover or its partner network operates.
🇭🇺 In Hungary
- Its acceptance is limited, mainly available in the premium segment (business hotels, car rentals, restaurants).
- It is generally not a primary choice among the general public, but is more used among international clients or corporate users.
- It is offered by some banks and financial service providers, but is less widespread than Visa or Mastercard.
🇪🇺 In the European Union
- Acceptance is also more scattered, but it is more usable in larger financial centers (e.g. Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels).
- Often associated with the Discover network, thus indirectly operating at more acceptance locations.
- In some countries, it is operated by independent card issuers (e.g. Diners Club Italia, Diners Club Austria).
🌐 Worldwide
- USA: Operates as part of the Discover network, significant adoption.
- Asia and the Middle East: Growing adoption, especially in the travel sector (airports, hotels).
- Latin America: Strong presence in certain countries (e.g. Argentina, Brazil).
- Africa: Limited presence, but occurs in luxury and business services.
