Online merchant portal
For Hungarian payment service providers, the online merchant portal is available for almost all payment acceptance solutions, but its content and functionality may differ by service provider and payment channel.
For example: 🔹 POS (physical terminals): Most service providers provide a portal where the merchant can manage turnover statements, daily closings, and refund transactions. Typically, the status of transactions, settlements, and fees are also visible here.
🔹 VPOS (virtual terminal, e.g. for processing telephone or e-mail payments): The portal usually includes transaction initiation options, customer data recording, and refunds. Many service providers provide a separate dashboard where the merchant can track VPOS transactions.
🔹 E-commerce (online payment with a web store): It almost always comes with a merchant portal: with detailed reports, cart data, a list of successful/unsuccessful transactions, and fraud prevention alerts. Depending on the integration, the merchant can also manage API keys and sandbox testing data in the admin interface.
🔹 Qvik (payment link, QR code, mobile-based payment): There is also a portal for the Qvik system, where the merchant can generate payment links, QR codes, track statuses, and manage refunds. Its advantage is that its interface is fast and simple, specifically optimized for small and medium-sized businesses.
Who is it recommended for?
The Online Merchant Portal is a central interface where the merchant can see their transactions, settlements, reports, users and settings.
The type of recommendation depends on the payment solution the merchant uses:
🔹 POS (physical terminals) 👉 Recommended: For retailers, restaurants, catering establishments, shops, service providers who handle many card transactions per day and it is important for them to track settlements, daily closings and cash register summaries online. ✅ Advantage: they see the traffic of all terminals in one place, they can connect multiple locations.
🔹 VPOS (virtual POS / online payment, e-commerce) 👉 Recommended: For webshops, e-retailers, subscription services, digital content providers who need to be able to manage real-time statistics, refunds and chargebacks on online payments. ✅ Advantage: administration (e.g. refunds) is available directly from the portal.
🔹 SoftPOS (smartphone POS application) 👉 Recommended for: Small merchants, couriers, freelancers, service providers who require mobility and low entry costs. ✅ Advantage: You can see the traffic of each phone, create reports and easily control the flow of funds through the online portal.
🔹 Qvik (QR code / instant payment solution) 👉 Recommended for: Small shops, catering establishments, markets, festival vendors, trainers, service providers who are looking for a fast, low-cost and cashless solution. ✅ Advantage: You can easily track QR code transactions, statistics and amounts received on the portal, which greatly helps transparency.
